Method for determining the vitality of alga in the photosynthesis, by measuring the oxygen balance in artificially carried out photosynthetic process with a definite algal probe, comprises drawing a quantity of a solution from an algal solution on to a moistened surface filter; supplying an air current for fastening the algal layer and allowing the filter into a measuring device for determining the oxygen balance. Method for determining the vitality of alga in the photosynthesis, by measuring the oxygen balance in artificially carried out photosynthetic process with a definite algal probe, comprises drawing a quantity of a solution from an algal solution by means of a cuvette and sucking device on to a moistened surface filter (where the alga present in the solution is obtained on the filter); supplying an air current on or through the filter for fastening the algal layer on the filter surface and allowing the filter with the adhered algal layer into a measuring device for determining the oxygen balance.
