PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make charging a battery possible, without deteriorating the performance, even in the case of a battery for a use which always requires full charging. SOLUTION: This charger is provided with a power circuit 1, a constant current/constant voltage charging control means 2, a battery voltage detecting means 4 for a secondary battery such as a lithium ion battery 7, a charging current detecting means 6, a battery installation detecting means 8, a time measuring means 9 which receives signals from the battery mount detecting means 8 and measures a time during which the secondary battery is fitted to a charger and a time during which the secondary battery is dismounted from the charger, and a controlling means 10 which sets a voltage value for a constant current/constant voltage charging by informations from the time measuring means 9 and transmits the set value to the constant current/constant voltage charging controller means 2. The charger is constituted such that charging may be performed by a current value for constant current charging and by a voltage value for constant voltage charging corresponding to the average fitted time and the average dismounted time of the secondary battery, and the best charging condition for the secondary battery is maintained. |
