<p>PURPOSE: To provide agglomerate for iron making which improves reducibility and improves meltability by efficient carburization into iron or molten metal in operation of a blast furnace and a furnace for melting steel scrap. CONSTITUTION: This agglomerate for steel making consists of a carbonaceous material 21 as a nucleus. An outer peripheral layer enclosing this nucleus consists of a mixture composed of an iron raw material 23 and a carbonaceous material 22. The volumetric fraction of the carbonaceous material 21 as the nucleus is preferably specified within a range of 0.2 to 30vol.% of the entire part of the agglomerate and the weight ratio of the carbonaceous material 22 in the mixture composed of the iron raw material 23 and the carbonaceous material 22 in the outer peripheral layer is 5 to 25wt.%. The grain size of the carbonaceous material 21 as the nucleus is 3 to 25mm and the grain size of the carbonaceous material 21 and the iron raw material 23 in the outer peripheral layer is <=1mm, among which the ratio of <=44μm is preferably >=30%.</p> |
