The stackable cat sand box (1) is made of corrugated cardboard and comprises a container part (4) and one for protection. The container part has side walls (10) and a bottom area (3) provided with apertures (5) through which sand may pass. The container part is foldable between a collapsed position and one in which it is raised. The protection part fits into the container part in its raised position to block the apertures in the bottom area and to prevent the container sides being folded inwards. The container part in its collapsed state is not thicker than the thickness of the bottom area and the side walls.
