The invention concerns a method for the preparation of 2-amino-6-trifluoromethoxybenzothiazole. The invention relates to organic chemistry and can be used in the pharmaceutical industry. The method provides for reaction of heterocyclisation of 4-trifluoromethoxy aniline with participation of bromine and potassium thiocyanate, with selection of molar ratio of reaction components and by correction of stages of isolation and purification in vacuum distillation from aqueous-acetic solution of admixture of 2,6-dibromo -4-trifluoromethoxyaniline, and with use of activated coal at the stage of isolation and/or crystallization of the raw product . Technical result: increase in the end product output.
