TECHNIQUE FOR RADIONUCLIDE DIAGNOSTICS OF DISORDERS IN BLOOD CIRCULATION AND OSTEOARTHROPATHY OF KNEE JOINTS IN PATIENTS WITH DIABETES MELLITUS

The technique for radionuclide diagnostics of disorders in blood circulation and osteoarthropathy of the knee joints in the patients with diabetes mellitus comprises intravenous administration of radiopharmaceutical methylene diphosphonate labeled with 99m technetium followed by recording its distribution with the use of computed gamma chamber. First, the angiograms of the blood vessels of knee joints are recorded. The increase in the blood circulation time in the arteries of the knee joints in the patients with diabetes mellitus as compared with the normal values is indicative of the disorders in blood circulation in corresponding blood vessels. The decreasing venous outflow may be also recorded. 2.5-3 hours later the osteoscintigraphy of the knee joints is performed. The significant asymmetry of the total activity in the bones of the knee joints is indicative of the inflammatory process in the bones of the knee joints.
