1,080,654. Caps for bottles &c. ARMSTRONG CORK CO. July '13, 1965 [July 24, 1964], No. 29741/65. Heading B8T. [Also in Division B5] In apparatus for lining a closure cap the plunger comprises an outer sleeve member telescopically movable on a spring-loaded central punch. The sleeve member closes on the cap to define the mould cavity and the punch then moves down to compress the material any excess of which causes the punch to move upwardly against its spring bias. In one example, Fig 3, the plunger comprises a tubular member 45 containing a spring-loaded punch 47 and having spring-loaded cavity defining sleeve 56, movement of the plunger being effected by. a cam and follower mechanism. 'In another example the tubular member has a cavity defining end and is moved downwardly by one cam and follower mechanism and the spring-loaded punch by a second cam and follower mechanism. The plunger is one of a series carried by a rotatable support which receives the caps from a rotatable carrier.
