New bisanilide compounds and methods for their production

Novel compounds of Formula (I) in which R is hydrogen or methyl, are produced by reacting 41 - sulphanilylacetanilide or 41-sulphanilylformanilide with phthalaldehyde, isophthalaldehyde or terephthalaldehyde, in an unreactive solvent medium, at least two moles of sulphanilanilide compound being used per mole of aldehyde. Therapeutic compositions having anti-malarial and anti-leprosy activity, which may be administered parenterally, contain as active ingredient a compound of Formula (I) above.
