The plastics tub (1), especially for packaging foodstuffs, has a body in the shape of a beaker with a coupling structure (8) at the upper rim of the beaker mantle (2) for a sealing lid (13) to be fitted and removed. The coupling has shapes (9,10) giving a force and a positive fit with complementary shapes (16,17) at the lid.
