A composition for application to e.g. the skin and/or lips, comprising a first coloration agent comprising particles comprising an inorganic nucleus and an at least partial coating of one or more organic colorants and also comprising a second coloration agent producing a specific optical effect visible to the naked eye. Independent claims are included for: (1) lipstick comprising the claimed composition; (2) foundation comprising the claimed composition; (3) nail varnish comprising the claimed composition; (4) mascara comprising the claimed composition; (5) hair dye comprising the claimed composition; and (6) a method of applying make up to the skin or lips by application of the claimed composition.
