PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer compound of a new chemical structure which has a hydroxyl group, and its analog. SOLUTION: The polymer consists of the structural units represented by formulas (1)-(4) (wherein X is a hydroxyl group, a hydroxyl group protected by a protecting group, or a hydrocarbon group having a hydroxyl group or a hydroxyl group protected by a protecting group), and their proportions (mol ratios) satisfy the relational expression (A): [the total amount of structural unit (1) and structural unit (2)]/[the total amount of structural unit (3) and structural unit (4)]=70/30-0/100.
