<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone comprising a master unit and a wireless slave unit in wireless connection to the master unit and charged from the master unit, for detecting on-hook and off-hook by the existence of a charging current and voltage, and capable of preventing determination as the slave unit is off-hook if the charge is stopped. <P>SOLUTION: When the slave unit is loaded onto the master unit through the terminals contacting each other, the output voltage of a feeder of the master unit adds to a charger of the slave unit. The charger controls charging operation by a control unit of the slave unit. When the master unit receives an incoming call ringer instruction from a main unit, it transmits a charging stop instruction to the slave unit (step 12), and performs the incoming call ringer to the slave unit (step 13). When the slave unit receives the charging stop instruction, it compulsorily stops the charging (step 14).
