<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butt welding method of different kinds of materials, a method that enables uniform welding condition to be obtained over the entire length of a joining face and that enables joint strength to be improved for the butt welding joint, in the butt welding in which base metals consisting of different kinds of materials of a different melting point are abutted on each other, with a high energy beam emitted to the base metal of the higher melting point, and in which only the base metal of the lower melting point is fused by heat transfer from the base metal of the higher melting point. <P>SOLUTION: With the purpose of making heat input to the joining boundary substantially uniform from the welding starting point to the ending point, for example, the welding is performed by moving the irradiation position of a high energy beam B in the direction of the arrow A gradually receding from the welding boundary F according as the irradiation is advanced from the welding starting point S toward its ending point E. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
