PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diagnostic system capable of reducing exposure dose of X-rays to test objects. SOLUTION: The X-ray CT scanner is composed from (A) a function acquiring the absorptive correction data correcting tomographic images for PET from irradiation of X-rays of lower dose than that of X-ray to get tomographic images for CT and (B) a function capable of irradiating X-rays in the limited area in order to acquire tomographic images of areas narrower than whole body of test objects. Irradiation of X-rays is divided into step S4, S9 and S10. Dose of X-rays irradiated at the step S4 acquiring the absorptive correction data is lower than dose of X-rays irradiated to acquire the tomographic images to superpose them on the tomographic images for PET, and areas of irradiation of X-rays irradiated at the step S10 can be adjusted to the area suitable to a prescribed area narrower than whole body of the test objects at the step S9, if desired and also to a prescribed area narrower than whole body of the test objects ever before, if desired. Thus, exposure dose of X-rays can be reduced to test objects. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
