PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing process of a prepreg which yields a laminate having a performance equal to that manufactured by using a conventional organic solvent substantially without using an organic solvent. SOLUTION: In manufacturing a prepreg composed of a fibrous substrate and a thermoplastic resin composition supported by the fibrous substrate, the manufacturing process of the prepreg comprises heating, melting and mixing the thermoplastic resin and an emulsifier, dispersing the heated and molten resin composition into water under pressure to obtain an aqueous emulsion and making the composition supported by the fibrous substrate. Preferably, the temperature of the water placed in the pressurized vessel is approximately equal to or higher than that of the molten resin composition.
