PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spot welding method by which a long electrode life in excess of 2,000 continuous spot points can be obtained, in the spot welding of a hot dip galvanized steel sheet. SOLUTION: The resistance spot welding of a hot dip galvanized steel sheet A with≥30 g/m<SP>2</SP>coating weight on the side in contact with one electrode and a steel sheet B superimposed on the steel sheet A so that the plated layer of the steel sheet B is in contact with the other electrode, is performed in such a manner that the thickness of the steel sheet A is set 0.3-1.0 mm while that of the steel sheet B is≥1.0 mm, that metal for plating the steel sheet B is a metal or an alloy having a melting point higher than zinc, and that the electrode to be used is made of alumina dispersed copper. In addition, the welding is performed in the energizing conditions that satisfy the following: welding current≥lower limit current + 1 kA; energizing time 0.08-0.4 sec. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
