PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the rotation of roof side rails that may happen when a side-collision occurs to deform center pillars toward the inside of a vehicle body. SOLUTION: The structure of the vehicle body includes side rail reinforcing members 34 located in areas where the center pillars 22 are mounted on the roof side rails 20, respectively. Each reinforcing member 34 can be split into a first side rail reinforcement 34a extending in the front-to-rear direction along the roof side rail 20 and a second side rail reinforcement 34b extending inwardly of the longitudinal axis of the roof side rail 20. The second side rail reinforcement 34b is superposed on a part of a slide door pocket structure 36 located just behind the center pillar 22. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
