PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder (sleeve) of a printing machine, which is equipped with a plate mounting device capable of surely holding a plate (printing plate/blanket) and making the cylinder sleeve thin. SOLUTION: This cylinder of the printing machine, around which a flexible plate is wound, comprises a cylinder groove wherein an opening is provided on the surface of the cylinder along the axial direction, a sandwiching means which is oscillatably provided in the cylinder groove and which has a cylindrical part and a notched part, and a dent part which is provided in the cylinder groove and in a position to face the sandwiching means. An end of the flexible plate is held in the state of being sandwiched between the sandwiching means and the dent part in the cylinder groove. This enables the plate to be surely held in the sandwiched state, enables the downsizing of the sandwiching means, and enables a decrease in the thickness of the sleeve. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
