PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine, removing a fraudulent person inserting a light emitting element through an input port to forcibly cause recognition of a coin. SOLUTION: A coil sorting device 10 of a slot machine selects a proper coin from input coins, and discharges improper coins. The coin sorting device 10 includes: a coin passage 14 formed so that the coin can pass therethrough by its dead load; and a photo sensor 26 defecting the coin passing through the coin passage 14. The photo sensor 26 includes a light emitting part 26a and a light receiving part 26b. The light emitting part 26a modulates the oscillation of light to emit light, and the light receiving part 26b receives the light emitted by the light emitting part 26a in synchronization with emission of the light emitting part 26a and demodulates the same, thereby detecting the coin passed through the coin passage 14.
