<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint sensor having a pointing function of excellent operability enhancing responsiveness. <P>SOLUTION: This fingerprint sensor of two-dimensional area type with a plurality of rows and columns intersecting, has: a signal detecting means for outputting detection signals in a two-dimensional detection face; an X-axis balance computing means for obtaining balance output in an X-axis direction by setting the output difference in the X-axis direction in line symmetry to a Y-axis passing the center of the detection face used as a reference, as a numerator and the sum of total output as a denominator; a Y-axis balance computing means for obtaining balance output in a Y-axis direction by setting output difference in the Y-axis direction in line symmetry to the X-axis passing the center, as a numerator and the sum of total output as a denominator; and a pointer movement control circuit for controlling the moving direction and speed of a pointer in the X-axis direction and Y-axis direction from the balance output in the X-axis direction and Y-axis direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
