PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a node capable of transmitting history information of media conversion to a subordinate node in the node connecting network adopting different media transmission techniques.

SOLUTION: A media conversion history information transfer section 13 receives a call control signal including media change history information from an adjacent exchange. When the number of media conversion times set to the media change history information is within a permissible range, the media conversion is executed, and a media conversion history information setting section 11 uses a value resulting from adding 1 to the number of media conversion times of the media conversion history information for the number of media change times to rewrite the number of media conversion times. A path selection section 12 selects a corresponding adjacent exchange from a path selection table when the number of media conversion times included in the media conversion history information is within the permissible range. Further, when the number of media conversion times exceeds the permissible range, the selection section 12 selects an adjacent exchange not executing media conversion from the path selection table, and the media conversion history information transfer section 13 transmits the call control signal to the selected adjacent exchange.
