PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving laser diode which can drive a plurality of laser diodes so that laser lights, emitted from these laser diodes are continuously irradiated on a common irradiation range with fixed intensity which can prolong the life time of each laser diode, while reducing the failure rate of each laser diode as a light source. SOLUTION: The two laser diodes LD1 and LD2 are driven so that they generate a pulse train of light, with the pulse trains of the two diodes being shifted by half a period. By driving the two laser diodes in such a manner, the laser lights can be continuously irradiated on the common irradiation range at a fixed intensity. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
