TERAHERTZ WAVE GENERATING DEVICE AND MEASURING INSTRUMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which it is difficult to generate a high-output terahertz wave stably for a long time when the terahertz wave is generated by difference frequency generation of a two-wavelength light source and a nonlinear optical crystal. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the stable high-output terahertz wave generating device constituted by combining a DASC (4-N, N-dimethylamino-4'-N'-methyl-stilbazolium p-chloro-benzene sulfate) crystal 10 which can be grown with high quality and has small laser damage with an optical parametric oscillator oscillating with two wavelengths. Included is a terahertz wave measuring instrument equipped with the terahertz wave generating device and a THz wave detector 12 using a pyroelectric element operating at room temperature.
