PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect an amount of dispensation even if liquid dispensed from a nozzle section is extremely small, by preventing the amount of liquid sucked into the nozzle section from affecting the detection sensitivity by capacitance. SOLUTION: An amount-of-liquid detector comprises a pair of detection electrode plates 11, 12 arranged opposingly. When a dispensing chip 10 is inserted between the detection electrode plates 11, 12, the amount of change in liquid accommodated in the dispensing chip is detected as a change in the capacitance between the detection electrode plates 11, 12.
