PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the gas leakage from between combustion plates by fastening the combustion plates radially inward in a cylindrical burner comprising a combustion cylinder 1 constituted by cylindrically combining the plurality of strip-shaped combustion plates, a connecting member 2 axially extended inside of the combustion cylinder, and a pair of pressing plates 3, 4 fixed to both ends of the connecting member, and holding the combustion cylinder from its axial both ends by the pressing plates by bringing the pressing plates into contact with end faces of the combustion cylinder through each end face packing 6 overlapped to the end face. SOLUTION: Outer peripheral packing parts 6a respectively overlapped to end part outer faces of the combustion plates, are respectively extended on an outer periphery of the end face packing 6. The outer peripheral packing parts 6a are respectively compressed by a specific margin and held between inner face of cylindrical flange parts 3a, 4a axially curled inward on the outer peripheries of the pressing plates 3, 4 and end part outer faces of the combustion plates 7 and the combustion plates 7 are fastened radially inward.
