PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce effects of explosion to the outside by absorbing the impact when dangerous objects possessed by a facility explode. SOLUTION: The impact absorbing structure 1 is provide with a shielding structure 11, which is provided to the surroundings of the facility X having the dangerous objects with the danger of explosion, and an impact absorbing mechanism 12, which is provided to the shielding structure 11 and absorbs the impact when the dangerous objects explode. The impact absorbing mechanism 12 is provided with an oil damper 15, which is mounted to the inside face 11A of the shielding structure 11, and a wall body 14 which is mounted to the tip of the oil damper 15. The oil damper 15 is provided with a cylinder 18 and a rod 16 advancing/retreating to/from the cylinder 18. A mounting member 17 is provided to the base end side 18A of the cylinder 18 and the tip 16A of the rod 16. The oil damper 15 is connected to the shielding structure 11 and the wall body 14 via the mounting member 17. When the impact is applied to the wall body 14 by the explosion of the dangerous objects, damping force is generated by the contraction of the rod 16 of the oil damper 15.
