PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throw-away tip, having excellent wear resistance and remarkably improving chipping resistance of a cutting edge part. SOLUTION: The surface of a base metal 2 formed of hard sintered body is coated with a coating layer 6 harder than the base metal 2. In the surface of the coating layer 6, a cutting edge 5 area extending from the rake face 3 side to the flank 4 side including an intersecting ridge is polished 7, and polished so that the face roughness in the rake on the rake 3 side from the cutting edge central part 8 is smaller than the face roughness in the cutting edge 10 in the flank side cutting edge area 9 on the flank 4 side from the cutting edge central part 8.
