<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric rubbed string instrument capable of creating a completely new playing style which has not existed before. <P>SOLUTION: The electric rubbed string instrument is equipped with a main body 3 to which a bridge, a pickup unit 8, and a tail piece 9 are fitted, a neck 4 connected to the main body 3, a finger plate 6 joined with the top surface of the neck 4, a plurality of strings 5 tensed between the neck 4 and spools 10, the pickup unit 8 which detects and transduces vibration into an electric signals, and a plurality of frets 16 implanted on the top surface of the finger plate 6.
