<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic device for an internal combustion engine, in which reliability is high, and in which energy consumption is advantageously small. <P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine comprises a plurality of fuel pumps, and a plurality of exhaust valves. At least one high pressure pump supplies energy from pressurized hydraulic fluid to pump drives 1 for the fuel pumps and hydraulic drive units 1 such as hydraulic actuators for the exhaust valves. This hydraulic device is provided with at least one main pump 6 driven by a rotation shaft in such a way that the rotation speed is varied at a prescribed ratio to the rotation speed of the rotation shaft, and that its direction is varied simultaneously with the rotation shaft. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
