PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of purifying a hydroperoxide containing impurities to obtain a high purity hydroperoxide, and an excellent method of detecting a hydroperoxide. SOLUTION: The method of purifying a hydroperoxide comprises a stage of adding a vinyl ether to the hydroperoxide group of the hydroperoxide to synthesize a vinyl ether adduct of the hydroperoxide, a stage of recovering the vinyl ether adduct of the hydroperoxide, and eliminating the vinyl ether from the recovered vinyl ether adduct of the hydroperoxide to regenerate the hydroperoxide. The method of detecting a hydroperoxide comprises a step of adding a vinyl ether to the hydroperoxide group of the hydroperoxide to synthesize a vinyl ether adduct of the hydroperoxide and a step of detecting the vinyl ether adduct of the hydroperoxide.
