PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a free uneven surface useful for forming a display, a decoration pattern or the like by forming transparent stepped surfaces by etching without lowering transparency of glass, without forming an irregular reflection surfaces of light by etching. SOLUTION: The production method for a transparent glass sheet comprises: a film forming step for forming an acid-resistant film 3 on each area to be left as a first transparent flat surface part 2 of the surface of the transparent glass sheet 1; a cleaning step for cleaning the surface of the transparent glass sheet 1 on which the films 3 are provided in the film forming step; an etching step for forming second transparent flat surface parts 4 each having a step to the first transparent flat surface part 2 by etching areas not covered with the film 3 by dipping the transparent glass sheet 1 into a reagent solution obtained by mixing 20-30% hydrofluoric acid, 20-30% sulfuric acid, 20-30% nitric acid and glycerol; and a film removing step for removing the acid-resistant films 3.
