PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rescue device for confined passengers from an elevator capable of reducing the time and labor till the rescue of passengers who are confined in an elevator car and performing a quick rescue activity. SOLUTION: The rescue device for the confined passengers from elevator is equipped with a rope attached to the car and moving in the vertical direction interlocking with the car elevating and sinking motions, a holding part fixed to the rope and slipping off from the rope when a force is applied to the rope acting upward, an assist weight installed in the holding part, and a movement stopping means to stop the holding part and assist weight moving downward.
