COOLING STRUCTURE OF CYLINDER BLOCK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling structure of a cylinder block capable of uniformly cooling the cylinder block. SOLUTION: This cooling structure 1 of the cylinder block comprises the cylinder block 10 having a water jacket 12 continuously formed around a bore wall 11b surrounding a plurality of bore areas and a water jacket spacer 20 inserted into a water jacket part 12. A cooling water 100W as a cooling medium is supplied to the water jacket part 12 to uniformize the temperature of the bore wall 11b. The cylinder block 10 also comprises bore-to-bore areas positioned near the boundaries of the bore areas adjacent to each other and an internal passage 115 as a cooling promotion means directly supplying the cooling water 100W from a water pump into the bore-to-bore areas. The internal passage 115 is formed in the water jacket spacer 20 so as to take the cooling water from the water pump therein before being heated by the bore wall 11b. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
