PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an insertion component which can enhance productivity and reduce costs, and the insertion component. SOLUTION: A method for forming a cylindrical insertion component which has longitudinal recesses 12 and lateral recesses 13 for preventing rotation and slipping-off on its outer circumferential face. The method comprises first and second pressing processes. The first process forms an intermediate insertion component 14A comprising double cylinders of which inner diameters are different, with the outer circumferential face of the cylinder 10a of the large diameter having a longitudinal groove 12a and a lateral groove 13a which are open in the direction of die cutting. In the second process, the inner face of the cylinder 10c of the small diameter is pressed in the direction of expanding the diameter, and the longitudinal recesses and lateral recesses for preventing rotation and slipping-off are formed on the outer circumferential face of the cylinder 10c by upheaving the open portions in the direction of die cutting of the longitudinal groove 12a and the lateral groove 13a.
