PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve working efficiency by facilitating a manual mounting work of a cutting edge guard on a band saw blade and making the cutting edge guard mounted on the band saw blade once difficult to be removed. SOLUTION: This edge guard has a head part 2 extending along the longitudinal direction (X-axis direction) of the band saw blade 20, openable/closable leg parts 3 and 4 extending in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) from both sides (Y-axis direction) of the head part 2, and a cutting edge storing chamber 5 for storing a cutting edge 22 inserted from the leg parts 3 and 4 sides. Circular arc surfaces E<SB>1</SB>and E<SB>2</SB>(E) are provided on an outside surface 2B of the head part 2. The lengths of both of the leg parts 3 and 4 are made different.
