The invention relates to an improved device for folding sheet-type objects, said device being characterised by the following elements: a feeding device (1, 2 ) for feeding the sheet-type objects; a roll arrangement comprising a plurality of adjacent rolls (4, 5, 6, 7) which rotate in order to transport the inserted sheet-type objects into, and out of, a plurality of folding pockets (8, 9), triggering the folding of the sheet-type objects; at least one abutment (10, 11) which is hit by a sheet-type object transported in a folding pocket (8, 9); at least one adjusting device (14) comprising an adjusting handle (14a, 14b) that can be displaced by an operator in order to adjust the position of the abutment (10, 11) along the folding pocket (8, 9); and at least one clamping device (15) which can be positioned in a clamping position in which the abutment (10, 11) is fixed. According to the invention, the adjusting handle (14a, 14b) of the adjusting device (14) co-operates with the clamping device (15) such that the clamping device (14) is released from the clamping position (14) when an operator a force on the adjusting handle (14a, 14b).
