<p>The invention relates to a packaging container (1) for a pre-straightened metal wire (2), e.g. for welding, electrical discharge machining or bar turning. The inventive packaging comprises a barrel (3) having a central axis (6), in which the wire is disposed. According to the invention, the wire turns (22) form a coil (4) so as to enable the rectilinear winding of the wire (2). The aforementioned coil is held in place permanently by a ferrule (5) which is equipped with a hole (20) in order to enable the winding of the wire. The lateral wall (9) of the barrel (3) is flared with a taper coefficient (Kc) of less than 1 so that empty barrels (3) can be nested inside one another, said taper coefficient being defined as the ratio between the largest dimension (Deltaf, min) of the horizontal section (17) at the base (7) of the barrel and the largest dimension (Deltaf, max) of the horizontal section (18) at the top (8) of the barrel. The taper coefficient (Kc) is greater than or equal to 0.7 in order to ensure good barrel (3) stability. Moreover, the vertical section of the lateral wall (9) is straight and uniform.</p> |
