<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reforming apparatus wherein a catalyst can be reduced without causing a cost rise. <P>SOLUTION: This reforming apparatus essentially consists of a reforming section where a fed fuel and reforming water are reformed by the aid of a catalyst packed inside to form a hydrogen-containing reformed gas, and the reformed gas is discharged and a combustion section where a fed combustion fuel is burnt, and the formed combustion gas heats the reforming section. In the reforming apparatus, the catalyst packed inside the apparatus can be reduced by feeding the fuel and the reforming water together with an inert gas thereinto, (steps 102 to 114), and inspection steps are subsequently practiced (steps 116 to 120). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
