THERMAL INSULATION STRUCTURE OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal insulation structure of a catalytic converter capable of preventing a heat damage to the outside by the heating of a case by properly disposing a distance holder and thermal insulation materials in a case.

SOLUTION: This thermal insulation structure of the catalytic converter comprises a tubular case 1 and a catalyst carrier 3 stored in the case 1 through the distance holder 2 and the thermal insulation materials. The distance holder 2 is wrapped all around the outer peripheral part 3a of the catalyst carrier 3 in a fitted state to form thermal insulation materials 4 and 5 on outer peripheral protected material sides O1 and O2 of the distance holder 2.
