PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance efficiency through high speed processing of recording while enhancing the recording quality by making it possible to perform nozzle cleaning just in front of a recording object while carrying the recording object. SOLUTION: In the ink ejection control method performing preliminary ejection before starting recording by ejecting ink from a full line type inkjet recording mechanism toward a recording body, a record start signal is delivered to an inkjet printer when the forward end of the recording area of an IC card being carried is detected. Subsequent encoder pulses from an encoder are masked and a false encoder pulse is created and outputted after the forward end of the recording area is detected before the rear end thereof is detected. Ink is then ejected preliminarily based on preliminary ejection data included in the recording data and the encoder pulse from the encoder is outputted thus performing recording based on the recording data.
