PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an editing system in which an imaging parameter indicating the setting state of each component during imaging can be recorded together with an imaging signal and in which a reproduced image can be edited to a desirable picture pattern by varying the value of the imaging parameter. SOLUTION: The editing system is provided with: a master side reproducing section 30 for reproducing an imaging signal and an imaging parameter from desired one of master tapes 34a-34d; a signal processing means; a slave side recording and reproducing section 31 for recording and reproducing imaging data and the imaging parameter reproduced from the master side reproducing section 30 to and from, for example, one slave tape 41; and a system control means 45 for controlling the signal processing means so that parameters of signal processing for imaging signals reproduced from other master tapes are changed based on the imaging parameter reproduced from the slave tape 41 by the slave side recording and reproducing section 31 and imaging parameters reproduced from the other master tapes by the master side reproducing section 30, and for controlling the slave side recording and reproducing section 31 so that the imaging signal to which the signal processing is applied under the changed parameters is recorded to the slave tape 41.
