<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply unit for a vehicle which can secure battery power for restart of an engine under conditions of an engine stop at the time of an idle stop. <P>SOLUTION: The power supply unit installed on the vehicle is provided with a battery, a solar cell, a relay means and a control means. The battery is for starting a starter motor for starting the engine, and the solar cell is connected so that it can feed power to the battery and electrical auxiliary equipment of the vehicle. Then the relay means is arranged between the battery and the electrical auxiliary equipment of the vehicle, and performs on-off switching operation. Then the control means controls the switching operation of the relay means. When an engine stop is detected, the control means switches the relay means so that a dark current is supplied from the solar cell to the electrical auxiliary equipment based on the information obtained from a means of detecting the condition of actuation of the engine which detects the condition of actuation of the engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
