PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminator capable of beautifully finishing lamination treatment to a medium to be recorded, without performing end edge treatment after the lamination treatment of a medium to be recorded. SOLUTION: In the laminator for forming a laminate layer on the recording surface of a sheetlike medium A to be recorded and a lamination method using it, a pair of feed members 41 and 43 feed the medium A while bonding a laminate material B to the medium A and an under film E under heating and pressure in a state that the laminate layer for laminating a recording surface is interposed between the sheetlike laminate material B formed in a region larger than the planar region of the medium A and the under film E arranged on the side opposite to the recording surface of the medium A and in a state that the medium A is interposed so that the recording surface is opposed to the laminate layer.
