PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerant evaporator wherein a tube and a tank are composed of different members, capable of improving draining performance even when the tube is extendedly arranged in a substantially vertical direction. SOLUTION: A drain groove 60 is provided on a lower side header tank 30 joined to the tube 11 so as to avoid a communication part 41 and a communication part 52 which are tank inner spaces. Condensate flowing down along the tube 11 is guided to the drain groove 60 along an inclined face 53 of a swelling part 51, and it can be drained via the drain groove 60.
