PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing dendrimer or dendron in which hybridization with the compound in which branch formation is incomplete is suppressed. SOLUTION: The method for producing dendron or dendrimer in which hybridization of an intermediate having incomplete branch is suppressed comprises a step for forming branches by utilizing a reaction in which the relationship among reaction rate k<SB>1</SB>for formation of the following generation (m+1 generation) of a first branch after forming recurring part of a first branch of a certain generation (m generation) and m generation-forming reaction rate k<SB>2</SB>, k<SB>3</SB>... k<SB>n</SB>of a second branch, a third branch to nth branch satisfies the formula k<SB>1</SB><k<SB>2</SB><k<SB>3</SB>...<k<SB>n</SB>when forming dendron or dendrimer having n branches.
