PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple-structure fire extinguishing appliance simply and appropriately performing, at least, an initial fire extinguishment in small places where no fire truck goes in or distant places where it takes a long time for the fire truck to reach when occurring a fire. SOLUTION: This fire extinguishing appliance is characterized in having a water storage tank 3, at least, filled with an initial extinguishment water in a storage case 2 buried in the ground and having its upper face emerged from the ground, a raising/lowering mechanism 7 storing a fire pump unit 6 with an automatic driving part, lowering and storing the fire pump unit 6 in the storage case 2 and raising and setting it upward the storage case 2, and a power generation and accumulation part using a natural force; and in enabling the fire extinguishing work using the fire-fighting water.
