PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transplanter that prevents bad conditions such as damages of seedlings by a seedling taking out claw, catching a seedling different from a seedling to be taken out and taking out the seedling and takes excellent removal of seedlings into consideration. SOLUTION: In the transplanter that is equipped with the seedling taking out claw 23 that advances from the upper side of a seedling tray T to the seedling tray T in which a large number of pot parts P opening to the upper side are longitudinally and latitudinally formed and seedlings S are raised in bed soil in the pot parts P, pierces bed soil B in the pot parts P and retreats so as to take out the seedlings S from the pot parts P, transversely feeds the seedling tray T so as to successively send the seedlings S to a seedling taking out position, takes out the seedlings S in a line side by side and then longitudinally sends the seedling tray T by one pitch of the pot parts P, a roller 40 that is installed at the upper side of the seedling tray T and holds the leaves of the seedlings S so as not to make the leaves L of he seedlings S interfere with the seedling taking out claw 23 is installed rotatably around an axis in the transverse direction of the seedling tray T.
