A cone crusher (20) which comprises: a stationary bowl (21); a conical head (13) of a cone assembly (100) which is capable of carrying out gyratory crushing action within the bowl (21); an eccentric (31) on which the conical head (13) is mounted, and such eccentric being mounted for rotation about the axis of an upright main shaft (30); and a hydraulically operated radial piston-type drive train (26, 27) which is coupled with the eccentric (31) in order to apply gyratory movement to the conical head (13), and which comprises: a circumferentially spaced array of radial piston/cylinder devices, spaced apart circumferentially with respect to the axis of the shaft; a supply duct (29) for pressurised hydraulic fluid extending lengthwise of the main shaft (30); and a distributor valve (22) communicating with the supply duct (29) and operative to supply hydraulic fluid sequentially to the array of piston/cylinder devices (26, 27) in order to apply rotation to the eccentric and thereby to impart gyratory movement to the conical head (13).
