<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for assigning a wavelength to each VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) so as to carry out broadband low-delay VLAN communication. <P>SOLUTION: A transmitter side VLAN registration information setting section 11-1 uses an optical monitor control signal to transmit VLAN registration information required for building up a VLAN to an opposite side. A table management section 12-1 includes a VLAN registration information table T1 for storing the VLAN registration information and a learning table T2 for storing the learning result of a relation between an address and a port connection to manage tables. A transmitter side WDM control section 13-1 assigns different optical wavelengths to each VLAN on the basis of the VLAN registration information to carry out wavelength conversion and thereafter carries out wavelength multiplexing to generate and transmits a WDM signal. A receiver side WDM control section 13-2 demultiplexes the received WDM signal in the unit of wavelengths and converts the wavelength after demultiplexing into an electric signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
