<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure recording method for continuing radical polymerization reaction to keep high sensitivity while preventing oxygen newly intruding into a recording layer after exposure from quenching radicals to be present as a simple substance, and to provide an apparatus for carrying out the method. <P>SOLUTION: In the exposure step, after the recording layer is exposed to form a latent image in the recording layer corresponding to image information by irradiation with first light, continuing process for radical polymerization is carried out by irradiating a part of the recording layer where radical polymerization reaction is not completed with second light to form a latent image having excellent plate wear. The second light is made to irradiate in such quantity necessary to generate radicals of the almost same number as radicals quenched by oxygen newly intruding in the image recording layer and to irradiate in the period until the reaction of polymerizing the monomer to cure by the radical polymerization started by the exposure in the image recording layer to form a latent image is completed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
